Pizza Making Class vs Cooking Class for Team Building

A side-by-side look at two popular team-building options. Spoiler: a hands-on pizza masterclass tends to beat a general cooking class on fun, inclusivity and getting everyone involved.

Which wins for team building?

For most teams, a pizza making class wins. Everyone shapes, tops and eats their own pizza within minutes, so there are no spectators and no complicated techniques to stall on. A general cooking class often splits people into prep roles, leaving some chopping while others wait. Pizza keeps the whole group hands-on, social and laughing from the first dough ball.

Side-by-side comparison

Side-by-side comparison
Factor Pizza making class General cooking class
Everyone hands-on Yes, each guest builds their own Often role-split, some wait
Skill needed None Varies, can be technical
Time to first win Minutes Longer, multi-step dishes
Dietary inclusivity Vegan and vegetarian easy, others by request Harder to flex per dish
Wow factor Live cooking theatre Usually a kitchen
Comes to you Yes, mobile; a socket only if indoors Often fixed venue

Why pizza is more inclusive

Pizza adapts to every plate without singling anyone out. Vegan and vegetarian are standard, so each person tops their own base to suit their diet, and other dietary needs get an honest answer at booking. There's no shared dish that excludes someone, and no skill barrier, which matters across mixed-ability, mixed-confidence teams. A general cooking class often funnels everyone through one or two recipes that won't suit all dietary needs.

Why pizza is more fun

The theatre does a lot of the work. The ovens reach pizza-cooking heat, your team's creations go in raw and come out blistered in around 90 seconds, and the room reacts every time. With a Naples-trained chef coaching the stretch and the toss, even nervous cooks get a quick, visible win. That shared buzz is exactly what team building is meant to create.

It comes to your office or venue

Our pizza masterclass is fully mobile, with a compact 3x3m footprint, so we set up at your office, garden or hired space. Outdoors it needs no mains power; indoors it runs on an electric oven we bring in, plus a socket from the venue. That removes the hassle of getting a whole team across town to a fixed cooking school. We're based in London, serving Greater London plus Kent, Essex, Surrey, Hertfordshire and Sussex, with a 14-day minimum lead time.

Cost and what to expect

A team-building masterclass starts from £75 per person with a £600 minimum group charge, and we publish our pricing openly rather than hiding it behind enquiry forms. You get restaurant-quality kit, live coaching and all dietary options included. For larger corporate and team events we can also pair the class with our full pizza catering or our live in-house DJ. Frequently asked questions

Is a pizza making class better than a cooking class for team building?
For most groups, yes. A pizza class keeps everyone hands-on with no skill barrier, caters all diets easily, and delivers a quick, visible win from the oven. General cooking classes often split people into prep roles and suit fewer dietary needs.
Do guests need cooking experience?
No. The pizza masterclass needs zero experience. Our Naples-trained chef coaches each person through stretching, topping and cooking their own pizza, so complete beginners get a great result in minutes.
Can you cater for dietary requirements?
Vegan and vegetarian are standard, and because each guest tops their own base, other dietary needs get an honest answer at booking without singling anyone out.
Can the class run at our office?
Yes. The setup is fully mobile with a 3x3m footprint, so we come to your office, garden or hired venue across London, Kent, Essex, Surrey, Hertfordshire and Sussex. Outdoors it needs no mains power at all; for an indoor room we bring in an electric oven, which needs a socket.
How much does a team-building pizza class cost?
A team-building class is from £75 per person with a £600 minimum group charge. We publish our pricing openly, and restaurant-quality kit, live coaching and all dietary options are included.
How many people can take part?
We can cater for up to 400 guests. The setup produces around 40 pizzas an hour, so even larger teams stay fed and involved.
How far in advance should we book?
We ask for a minimum of 14 days' lead time. For popular dates we'd suggest booking earlier. Request a quote or message us on WhatsApp to check availability.
